According to reports, Chris Bosh Bulls verbally agreed in 2010

The Chicago Bulls were chasing Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in the 2010 off-season and were certain at the time that they would sign Bosh at least.

“For me, the story begins and the conversation with Chris Bosh begins,” said Nick Friedell on Brian Windhorst’s podcast. “Because you’re talking to people in the Bulls organization, including former players … Chris Bosh said he would come straight to the Bulls.

“Chris Bosh and the cops should be together, at least in Chicago’s head. And then when this week ended, as I know you’re going into the story, they said, ‘What’s going on here?’

“As far as the cops are concerned, they felt they had a commitment from Chris Bosh, at least some people in the organization. They felt that Dwyane would follow Wade. They hoped that would work out, especially in the days ahead this first weekend.

“Then to see how it all falls apart this way and how all three big guns go to Miami the way they did, I honestly still don’t think the cops are all the way over it.”

Later on in the podcast, Friedell states that Bosh made an oral promise to the cops during his meeting.

“Chris Bosh said, according to more than one person in the organization, that I came to play for the cops.” He said, “I’m coming to play for the cops. I’ll be here.”
