Angel Gomes comes to Manchester United for training before the prospective retirement

Man Utd’s midfielder Angel Gomes came to Carrington for his last training session with his teammates.

Angel Gomes was introduced to Manchester United for training before his expected departure from the club.

The 19-year-old has no contract on Tuesday night and is not expected to play for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team in the upcoming Premier League in Brighton.

On Monday morning, Solskjaer said there was no update on Gomes’ future, suggesting the 19-year-old will leave the club without a new deal being agreed between the two parties.

“I have no news, nothing,” said Solskjaer. “So it doesn’t look like it. To be honest, I didn’t hear from them last night or this morning. It seems they didn’t manage to agree. So the answer is probably short and yes.”

MEN Sport announced that Gomes had declined United’s opening offer for a new deal earlier this season, and the striker was not convinced of his club’s chances of playing.

United is only entitled to a compensation fee for Gomes if he moves to another club. However, Solskjaer was still keen to involve the academic in training the first team before his game against Brighton on Tuesday evening.

Solskjaer’s team has been unbeaten in the last 14 games of all competitions, but has never beaten Brighton in the Premier League.
