The £ 300m offer by the Saudi Arabia public investment fund to Newcastle United has lasted 14 weeks and there is no guarantee that the Premier League will soon rule on it.

The World Trade Organization has ruled that the Saudis are behind pirate satellite television, and the kingdom has been taking action against illegal streaming websites since last weekend.

It has been widely believed that the Premier League will make a decision later this week, but it hasn’t, and The Athletic’s George Caulkin has reported that documents have been moved between Magpies buyers and the EPL this weekend, and there were other communication bits.

However, he admits that fans will have to wait as the next course of action remains unknown.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is waiting for the Premier League to approve the offer after a non-refundable deposit has been received, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days and weeks.

The St. James’ Park team has almost assured Premier League safety after 39 points from 31 games. They hope to win the FA Cup. A quarterfinal against Manchester City is taking place today.
