Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has warned that it will take “years” to resolve the club’s problems.
He said to BT Sport: “You can see [Arteta’s] hand on this team. But you can see that this team is not yet fully connected.
“If you look at the connection from the defense in midfield to the attackers, they are not connected, they do not move as one.
“He’s still looking, but I think if you give him the time – and he should have all the time he needs, not just the months, he should be years old – I think he can do it well.”
He added: “Now they should finally find a way to fix the placed kicks, the corner kicks, the free kicks, the crosses.
“It’s like any cross against Arsenal, hold your breath, it’s almost a goal, almost a goal. How do you solve it? You solve it with mental strength.
