Sailing in the Community of Madrid is launched. With all the security measures and maintaining all the protocols established by the General Directorate of Sports of the Community, the Real Club Náutico de Madrid hosted the first regatta this past weekend, after the return to the new normality, celebrating the Autonomic of the Soling class in which the bulk of the fleet with 13 ships participated, under generally acceptable wind conditions that allowed completing a total of 4 tests.

The ‘new’ Sanbo, by Carlos Elósegui, counting on his crew Cuco Gómez and Juan Ramón Jiménez, took the territorial title of the Soling class thanks to the partials of 3-2-1-2, for a total of 8 points. The second place was for the Guide II boat, led by Alfonso Colón de Carvajal, completing the team with Manuel Allo and Jorge de la Nuez, staying 3 points from Sambo. Only the 8th place in the 3rd test kept them from achieving the title, since in the other three tests they managed to win the victory in each one of them.

The podium was completed with Bondi, with the hat trick consisting of Mikel Álvarez, Guillermo Parodi and Alejandro Ablático. Álvarez’s boat started with a discreet 7th place, improving in the following three tests: 3-2-4, adding a total of 16 points, to 5 of the second and 8 of the first classified.

The nautical from Madrid, on the other hand, continues its way in its ‘new normal’ in terms of its sports calendar and in regards to the tests of the Madrid Sailing Federation, since after the Soling territory, the club hosts this next weekend, July 4th and 5th, the Autonomic class Snipe. The Cervera Nautical Club also returns to “normality”. In Aguas del Atazar, the Autonomous Cruise Ship will be held on Saturday, July 4.

The Federation, for its part, is currently working to restructure the calendar that was paralyzed after declaring the state of alarm to be able to celebrate and host the regional tests that were postponed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
