Discussion: Can the Boston Celtics win the championship?

The Celtics are finally in Orlando to prepare to restart their season and take a hit on the championship. That’s what it’s all about, right? (No, it’s about money, but we’ll play together for fun.)

I know several months have passed since we had the games to use as a reference. In fact, this was more like a low season than a season break. Players with creaking knees and annoying wounds are fresh (ready) and ready to go. Once the playoffs start, the Celtics will have one of the best playoff rotations (1 through 7 or 8). Many things have to break in the right way, but there is a possibility that the Celtics may raise another banner.

Chad Finn puts his fun spin on perspective.

Would you consider it the real and authentic Banner 18, equal to all the samples that had come before?

Or would it be Banner 18 with a big, old fat asterisk? Call it Banner 17.5, maybe?

There would certainly be no parade. Would it be more appropriate to celebrate it with a Zoom meeting between season ticket holders and something smaller than a banner? Maybe, say, a TD Garden pennant that identifies the Celtics as the NBA Orlando Bubble Champions 2019-2020?

All of this is just my way of trying to start a fun discussion. I feel compelled to add a survey at the end, but I always struggle to pronounce a survey like this …

Will the Celtics win the title? (Celtics fans will mainly say yes … because Boston)

Can the Celtics win the title? (Well yes. Technically all Orlando teams are eligible)

What are the odds that the Celtics win the title? (What’s this, Vegas? I don’t know)

Should the Celtics win the title? (I mean, that’s a really profound theoretical question)

So I opted for this:

Poll

How sure are you that the Celtics can win the title?

  • 0%

    100%

    (0 votes)

  • 0%

    80% or higher

    (0 votes)

  • 0%

    50% or higher

    (0 votes)

  • 0%

    Less than 50%

    (0 votes)

  • 0%

This survey also stinks, but you’ve tried.
