No Champions League place for the United Volleys Frankfurt

Dhe United Volleys Frankfurt volleyball club is not allowed to play in the Champions League next season. According to the club, the Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) and the German Volleyball Association (DVV) did not report the runners-up in the last season for the premier class, although Germany has three places available there.

DVV Cup winners Berlin Recycling Volleys and record champions VfB Friedrichshafen alone are expected to compete in the highest European competition. In a message, the people of Frankfurt described the decision as “absolutely incomprehensible and harmful to German volleyball”.

This year they finally managed to break the dominance of Friedrichshafen and Berlin. “That’s exactly what we did and put a lot of money, energy and enthusiasm into it”, United Managing Director Jörg Krick is disappointed. The club was not only deprived of “arguments against sponsors”, but especially the players to be able to present themselves at this level.

In addition, the Hessians announced that they will not occupy the alternative starting place in the third-class Challenge Cup. Germany has no place in the second-class CEV Cup this time.
