The best par ever? After two in the water, Bae punctures 250 yards

Fred Couples had a memorable par save in the first round of THE PLAYERS Championship in 1999, when he found water with his T-shot on the island’s 17th green at TPC Sawgrass, then broke open after recovering.

But that shot was more than 100 yards shorter than Bae’s hole with a TPC Twin Cities hybrid.

Bae’s first tee shot at 1899 yards found water running down the right side of the fairway. Then he took his drop, leaving it with a third blow at 249 yards on the pin – all through the water on the dog-right hole.

That third hit also found water, 63 feet from the green. So Bae then fell back from his own spot, now 250 yards away on his fifth pitch … and went on to find the bottom of the cup to end his 4-over 75 round.

It was a water-filled day for the 34-year-old from South Korea, as he also found water with his seventh par-4 (bogey) tee shot and his second ninth par-4 (triple bogey) hit. ).
