Formula 1 returns to Istanbul Park, Turkey, as four more races have been added to the 2020 F1 calendar

Istanbul Park in Turkey will host a Grand Prix this year for the first time since 2011, after Formula 1 announced that four more races have been added to the 2020 calendar.

The Turkish Grand Prix will be played in Bahrain on November 15th just before a double headed ball. The Bahrain Grand Prix will follow on November 26th, followed by the Sakhir Grand Prix on December 6th.

The season to close the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place on December 13th at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Formula 1 also confirmed that the Chinese Grand Prix, which was originally postponed earlier this year, will no longer be held in 2020, bringing the current race total for the season to 17.

In a statement from Formula 1 it says: “We can confirm that Turkey, Bahrain (venue for two races) and Abu Dhabi will be part of the revised season and we would like to thank all of our organizers and partners for the hard work of this season possible with 17 races.

“Unfortunately we will not be racing in China this season and would like to thank our partner Juss Sports for their support and commitment over the past few months and are very much looking forward to returning to Shanghai next year.”
