Tottenham gets to work on a deal to see Gareth Bale return to North London, while Man City reaches a giant defender deal – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.

SPURS, MADRID WORKING ON THE RETURN OF THE DANCE?

Tottenham are working with Real Madrid on a proposal that would see Gareth Bale make a resounding return to Spurs before his contract in Spain expires, according to a report.

Bale’s relationship with Madrid has steadily declined in recent seasons. Indeed, the situation got worse when manager Zinedine Zidane left the Welshman out of his Champions League squad.

Zidane insisted that Bale declined to join the squad, with more recent reports claiming the winger is willing to stay out for the remaining two years of his timeless playing deal.

However, second Todofichajes, Spurs and Madrid may still offer Bale an escape from his troubles.

The two clubs are reportedly working on a two-year loan that would likely see both clubs pay off some of his salary. Indeed, a permanent deal for any club seems unlikely given its astronomical paycheck.

However, the loan proposal is “affordable” for Spurs, who operate on a tight budget this summer.

Additionally, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho spoke personally with Bale to express his desire to sign the 31 year old.

Despite his problems on and off the pitch since signing in 2013, Bale has scored 105 goals in 251 games for Real Madrid.
