Austin increases greens taxes for municipal golf courses starting October 1

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Green fees at Austin area golf courses are increasing.

In a municipal note from Austin’s Department of Parks and Recreation Director Kimberley McNeeley to Mayor Steve Adler and the Austin City Council, the fees for all courses that are part of GolfATX will increase by at least 5% as part of the FY2020-21 city of Austin authorized by the council.

The new tariff will come into effect on October 1st.

The reminder says Austin residents will still receive a discount on rounds in members’ courses, $ 1 Monday through Thursday and $ 2 Friday through Sunday, and the Gray Rock Golf Course in southwest Austin will give $ 5 off. to residents.

Hancock Golf Course will continue to use a paid station, the memo states.

Gray Rock is the most expensive of the local municipal courses. One round, plus cart rental and shot balls, during the week (Monday through Thursday) at Gray Rock will now set golfers back $ 75, instead of $ 71. A weekend round (Friday- Sunday) with a cart and court balls will increase from $ 85 to $ 89.

Roy Kizer Golf Course rates for a weekday round will increase from $ 31 to $ 33 and increase on Friday from $ 37 to $ 39. Saturday and Sunday rounds go from $ 40 to $ 42.

Fees increase by $ 2 on a group of three courses – Jimmy Clay, Morris Williams, and Lions Municipal – for each part of the week. The new Monday through Thursday rate is $ 28, Friday is $ 30, and Saturday and Sunday is $ 32.

In Hancock, the new one-round fare is $ 17 Monday through Thursday, $ 20 Friday, and $ 22 Saturday-Sunday.

There are discounted rates for evening and sunset shifts for each course.
