Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri, an Italian team) won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, a first for a French driver in Formula 1 for twenty-four years. At the time, Olivier Panis won in Monaco.

At the age of 24, Pierre Gasly won this Sunday after a race marked by an interruption and an unprecedented podium ahead of Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren) and Canadian Lance Stroll (Racing Point).
