According to media reports, top favorite Manuel Baum will be the new coach at Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04. The previous DFB junior coach should therefore be officially announced on Wednesday as the successor to David Wagner, reported the “Sportschau” on Wednesday morning.
Also the Kicker reports the personnel already. According to the magazine, the former Schalke player Naldo will be assistant coach.
The Revierclub parted ways with Wagner on Sunday after 18 consecutive games without a win across the seasons. On Saturday the bottom of the table will play at RB Leipzig (6.30 p.m.). Baum currently trains the U18 national team. Between December 2016 and April 2019 he was head coach of FC Augsburg.
Dimitrios Grammozis, Sandro Schwarz and Valérien Ismaël were recently traded as other candidates at Schalke.
