Total victory over Indonesia, Bulgaria: We are less fortunate page all

KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian U19 national team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Bulgaria in the inaugural match of the International U19 Friendly Tournament 2020.

The U19 Indonesia vs Bulgaria national team match was held at the Igraliste NK Polet Stadium, Sveti Martin na Mauri, Croatia, on Saturday (5/9/2020) evening WIB.

Three embarrassing Bulgarian goals were contributed by two different players. Namely Martin Petkov (76 ‘, 85’) and Stanislav Shopov (83 ‘).

Bulgaria is so dominant in possession from the start of the match until the end.

In the first half, Bulgaria held 72 percent of the ball with a 0-0 draw.

Then in the second half there was little resistance from the U19 national team so that Bulgarian ball control was 70 percent.

However, Shin Tae-yong’s squad had to concede three goals in the final 15 minutes.

Even though he lost badly, the U19 national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, was not that worried. Because, victory is not what he is looking for.

“The results of the match as I said before, we have no problem even if we have to lose,” Shin was quoted as saying on the official PSSI website.

“What is clear is that the team is still in process because the training material is high in intensity and the players have shown their hard work in this match,” explained the South Korean coach.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria admitted that it was unlucky even though it had defeated the Indonesian U19 national team under Shin Tae-yong with a landslide score.

Through the official website of the Bulgarian Football Federation (BFU), they explained that they were not lucky in the first half because they failed to break into the U19 national team goal guarded by Muhammad Adi Satryo.

“From the first minute, the Bulgarian team pressed the opponent, but our luck was bad, the opponent’s tough defense made us unable to lead the match,” wrote the BFU on its official website.

“In the second half, despite many changes in line-up, Bulgaria U19 continued to dominate.”

“The goal came in the 76th minute when Martin Petkov took the lead. Seven minutes later Stanislav Shopov doubled the lead with a long-range shot.”

“Then Petkov scored again and sealed the victory for the Lions,” they explained.

“Angel Stoykov’s team undoubtedly showed superiority throughout the match even though three new goals were scored in the dying minutes,” wrote BFU.
