No Hamburg double pack for BV Gifhorn! After two 7-1 successes at the start of the regional badminton league, the BVG has to wait until it can add – the guest appearances at SSW Hamburg and Hamburg Horner TV II have to be postponed. Reason: The recently increasing corona numbers.
Because the Hanseatic city was declared a risk area at the beginning of the week, both games have to be postponed. “They will probably be made up on December 19 and 20,” said BVG captain Dennis Friedenstab. Should it not then either, the games would be played at the end of the season.
As much as the decision is understandable – “It’s not a lot of fun,” sighs Friedenstab. “If that happens to more games, we’ll have a seasoned season ahead of us.”
There is no alternative program for the weekend, “maybe one or two people from us will help out in the second,” said Friedenstab. Whether the reserve will play is open – in Metjendorf near Oldenburg, the team would meet TuS Schwinde and SV Veldhausen.
