Compared to the September term, this time three players have joined the list of candidates: defender Ksenija Nagle, as well as midfielder Alise Gaiķe and Selga Vitmore. This time the team does not have an experienced midfielder Kristīne Giržda. In total, twenty footballers from ten different clubs have been invited to the national training camp. The largest representation is in Riga Football School (six football players), as well as FS “Metta” and Icelandic IBV (three players each).

The team will gather on Sunday, October 18, in Riga, where they will also conduct trainings. The team will fly to Sweden on October 20. On October 23, the team led by Didž Matīss will go to Bratislava.

These two games for the Latvian national team will be the last qualifiers of the 2021 European Championship. As you know, this is the first time that the qualification is based on a model close to the men’s play order, with all teams being drawn in several groups.
