With its “bubble”, the NBA avoided the loss of $ 1.5 billion in additional revenue

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the NBA lost around $ 1.5 billion in revenue, especially because ticketing represents 40% of its revenue. To this must be added the 200 million lost following the Chinese crisis.

But it could have been double if the league had not managed to end its season in the “bubble”.

The Sports Business Journal explains that the NBA had to spend $ 180 million to set up its campus at Disney World, but the game was worth the candle since it allowed it to recover $ 1.5 billion in TV rights ( national and regional) which it would have lost if the end of the season was canceled.
