ATP and one of Zverev’s main sponsors comment on the allegations against him

A lot has been said about Alexander Zverev in the last few weeks. Unfortunately for the German tennis player, not only because of the excellent results in Cologne and Paris-Bercy. In fact, his ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova accused him of physically and psychologically abusing her through some interviews and various publications posted on social networks.

For his part, Zverev has always denied and contradicted Sharypova’s statements. “These allegations are completely unfounded, they are not true. Olya and I have had ups and downs, but the way our relationship has been publicly described is not true.

I’m not like that, my parents didn’t raise me like that and I’m not the person described. It saddens me to know that they have such a powerful impact on the world of sports, abroad and even on me.

I regret that tennis is no longer the focus of attention because we are here to play, ”repeated Zverev before his debut in the final.

ATP and Adidas comment on the Zverev case

If your sponsors and the ATP had decided to hold back in this regard until a few days ago, now they have decided to take a position.

“We are informed about the situation. We take this very seriously. It would be inappropriate to make statements now. But our policy is zero tolerance towards any kind of violence and we expect the same from our partners, “announced the multinational Adidas.

The ATP presidency expressed itself in this sense. “The ATP condemns all forms of violence or abuse. We hope that all of our partners do the same and do not commit abuse or violent behavior that endangers the safety of others.

In the event that complaints are formalized, an investigation is conducted and a fair trial is conducted, we will make our own assessments and make decisions on the matter.

Otherwise we reserve the right not to comment on the allegations. “It is clear that the ATP cannot take action against your player without a trial.
