Berrettini said goodbye and Schwartzman approached London

Surprise defeat of Matteo Berrettini at the Masters 1000 in Paris. He yielded to Marcos Giron (91st) by 7-6 (3), 6-7 (0) and 7-5 and, as a consequence, the Italian was ruled out of the chance to enter London and Diego Schwartzman’s chances grew.

The Argentine, who has 3285 points, and in 2019 he fell in the second round, and can no longer be overcome by his immediate pursuer who was left with 2875.

But there are still three players who still have a mathematical chance of getting into the ATP Finals: Pablo Carreño Busta, Milos Raonic and Stan Wawrinka, But something very strange should happen: except for Carreño Busta (2,445 points when entering the third round and potential 3,355 if he comes out champion) none of the others would pass Schwartzman in the ranking even if they won Paris and the Argentine was eliminated in the second round.

The Canadian could reach 3220 units and the Swiss, 3140. However, there will still be the Sofia tournament, which distributes 250 units for the champion.

Consequently, the Argentine will qualify in Paris itself if you reach the semifinals, or if Carreño, Raonic or Wawrinka they don’t win the tournament. Otherwise it will be defined in Bulgaria.

LAST PLACE TO LONDON
Diego Schwartzman (ARG): 3285 points
Pablo Carreño Busta (ESP): 2445
Milos Raonic (CAN): 2265
Stan Wawrinka (SUI): 2230
