Few surprises in the first part of the third match day of the Champions League. Liverpool and Bayern Munich played heavily on the field of Atalanta and Salzburg respectively. Kevin De Bruyne guided Manchester City to an easy win against Olympiacos.

In Group A. Atletico Madrid – without the injured Carrasco – visited Lokomotiv Moscow. José Jiminez gave the visitors the lead early on, but Anton Miranchuk took care of the equalizer from the spot. No more goals were scored after the break. Atletico increases his points total to four, Lokomotiv gets stuck on two draws. Defending champion Bayern Munchen was not disappointed. It won the derby on the field of Salzburg (2-6) and leads with the maximum of the points. Striking: Bayern only came in at 2-3 in the 79th minute, after which the spring broke completely at the Austrians.

Group B. saw Mönchengladbach visit Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine early in the evening. The Germans already made the difference before half-time. Group C. saw Manchester City quietly beat Olympiacos (3-0). Kevin De Bruyne was taken off shortly before the final whistle. The assist for the third goal came from the foot of Felix Nmecha, the brother of Anderlecht striker Lukas Nmecha. Porto beat Marseille (3-0) in the other match. City leads with the maximum of points.

In Group D. after all, Liverpool did not get into trouble on the field of Atalanta (0-5). Newcomer Diogo Jota already scored twice before half-time: Salah, Mané and again Jota added. Divock Origi stayed on the bench with the English for ninety minutes.
