Millonarios’ 3-0 defeat on Saturday led to a denouement that was already shaping up, Juan Carlos Osorio is no longer the technical director of Atlético Nacional. The club confirmed it this Sunday, as soon as the team returned from Bogotá.
“Atlético Nacional informs its fans, the media and public opinion that Professor Juan Carlos Osorio Arbeláez will not continue to lead the Institution. In the next few hours the Club will deliver more details on the Technical Direction of the male professional team. To Professor Osorio, thanks for his work and dedication. We wish him every success in his professional future ”, the club reported in a press release.

During this second stage as Purslane strategist, Osorio played 50 games, of which he won 20, drew 18, lost 12. His managers scored 78 goals, received 59 for 78 points harvested and a performance of 52 percent.
Factors such as the weak defensive level, not consolidating an idea of the game and the low level in the last games, advanced the decision of the directors to terminate this project.
With Osorio, there are already four coaches and two interim technicians that Atlético Nacional has had in the last three years: Juan Manuel Lillo, Jorge Almirón, Hernán Darío Herrera (manager), Paulo Autuori and Alejandro Restrepo (manager).
During that time of instability, Nacional won a title (Copa Colombia 2018) and two lost finals: Super League 2018 and League I-2018.
