Latvian game developer “Beetroot Lab” has created a mobile game “Dystopia: Contest of Heroes”, which was created in collaboration with the star of mixed martial arts (MMA) Konor McGregor and his agent “Paradigm Sports Management”, informed Beetroot Lab co-founder Dāvis Ziediņš.

He pointed out that the central element of the game is global multiplayer tournaments, where “Dystopia: Contest of Heroes” players from all over the world can compete for prizes not only in the game, but also for real prizes worth several thousand US dollars. The winner of the annual game tournament will also receive a Lamborghini vehicle and a meeting with the famous MMA wrestler.

Ziediņš noted that based on the 12-month process of publishing the game, “Dystopia: Contest of Heroes” could reach a revenue of 225 million US dollars in 24 months and gain about 550 million US dollars in value at the end of 2022, making it one of the the most successful mobile strategy games of all time created in Europe.

The total investment in the development, testing and licensing of Dystopia: Contest of Heroes has reached eight million euros. To create the game, Beetroot Lab partnered with several flagships in the mobile gaming industry, including Machine Zone, Scopely and Playrix.

“Beetroot Lab” company was founded in 2014 in Riga and it specializes in the development of mobile games on “iOS” and “Android” platforms. In more than six years of existence, the company, which employs more than 25 people, has created more than 100 games.
