Francisco Cerúndolo, champion in Campinas

Francisco Cerúndolo closed its 2020 in a great way: in the final of Campinas beat 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3 to Robero Carballés Baena and achieved his third Challenger of the season.

The 22-year-old Argentine will be 139th in the world as of next Monday, reaching the best ranking of his career. Cerúndolo started 2020 in 248th place in the ranking.

In addition to the three titles (Split and Guayaquil the previous ones), the oldest of the Cerúndolo ends the year beating a Top 100 as Carballés, on two consecutive occasions.

Cerúndolo is the eighth Argentine with the best ranking at the end of 2020, behind Diego Schwartzman (9th), Guido Pella (43rd), Juan Londero (79th), Federico Delbonis (82nd), Federico Coria (91st) , Facundo Bagnis (125 °) and Leonardo Mayer (135 °).
