If Federer and Co. would still play in old age

An unknown creator, using digital help, gives a pretty realistic (and fun) glimpse of what Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic might look like if they played tennis decades later.

The YouTube videos were uploaded from the “a letter from the lens” channel. The credo there is: «Creating video clips – inspired by nature and beautiful shots. Look, relax, think! ” Tennis also seems to follow these principles. No wonder that they are dedicated to the three best players in history.

At the beginning, Roger Federer is projected into the future as a 59-year-old, who will speak to the media in the All England Club in 2040. Federer, currently eight-time Wimbledon champion, speaks in the video about his return to the Championships in 2041.

Interestingly, the clip uses the real statements Federer made after winning the 2017 Wimbledon title. “I mean, you would think that way if your health allows it and if everything is fine,” he says. “You could take time off 300 days in advance, just prepare for Wimbledon, lie down in a cooler, then come out and train a little so you won’t be injured,” says the graying Federer.

The other video projects the 13-time Roland Garros winner Rafael Nadal into 2050. The Spaniard can be seen winning another French Open title at the age of 64 – the comments used come from his 2020 title win.

“I played great for two and a half sentences. I can’t say anything else. It is impossible to have this result against him without playing great, ”says the clay court specialist. “I was playing at my highest level when I had to play at my highest level – that’s something I’m very proud of.”

Novak Djokovic can also call more than five sets at the Australian Open 2055. “I feel physically good, although I’m naturally tired after five hours,” explains the sprightly (67-year-old) Serb.

The creator of these videos also created a “face swapping” for the following deepfake work. The body and voice are of Rafael Nadal, but the face is unmistakably Roger Federer.
