Kyrie Irving doesn’t want to talk to the media, publishes statement

Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets has chosen not to speak to the media. For this, the Point Guard published a statement in which he stated that he would like his performance on and off the field to speak for itself.

The problem is that, according to the collective agreement, players have to take part in media rounds, at least 22 days before the first game of the season. Irving has not yet done this. However, it is not clear whether this rule has been suspended due to the corona pandemic.

Here is the full statement from Irving, which he sent to selected media representatives:

“COVID-19 has affected all of our lives, so I pray for the safety and health of people at home and abroad. I’m looking forward to the season and hope that everyone stays safe and healthy during this time.

Instead of speaking to the media today, I’m releasing this statement to make sure my words aren’t twisted.

I’ve committed to going to work every day, having fun, competing, playing and winning a championship with my fellow players at the Nets. My goal for this season is to let my work on and off the field speak for itself.

Life has changed this year and that demands of us, demands of me, to act differently. That is the beginning of the changes. “
