Rashford Willing to Play with Pain

Jakarta

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford continues to be plagued by a shoulder injury. Rashford was willing to play with pain to appear in the Manchester Derby.

The injury was experienced by Rashford when United beat Everton 3-1 in early November. As a result, the 22-year-old footballer had to be withdrawn from the England squad and afterwards has only made two full appearances in the last six matches of the Red Devils.

However, Rashford played for 90 minutes when MU was smothered by RB Leipzig 2-3 in the last match of the Champions League group phase in midweek. The defeat forced Manchester United to ‘relegate’ to the Europa League.

The mission to rise MU faces a big challenge because of the arrival of Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday (13/12/2020) early morning WIB. Rashford does not want to miss such an important match, even if he has to play at a fitness that is not 100 percent.

“I have to try to control things that I can control,” Rashford told the club’s official website. “I’m not too worried about resting. I watch it from game to game. I know I’m healthy, I’m smiling, and I’m ready to play.”

“I don’t want to miss a match, especially a big and important match. If I feel I can still help the team by scoring goals, working hard and assisting, there is no reason why I can’t play with a little pain.”

Marcus Rashford is quite dangerous in front of the Manchester City goal. In eight Manchester Derbies in the Premier League, Rashford has found the net the Citizens three times by winning three wins, four defeats, and one draw.
