The FACR has been dealing with the appointment of a panel of judges since the second half of October, after a corruption scandal broke out around the former vice-president of the association, Roman Berbr. The affair mainly concerns the alleged influence of results through judges.

Shortly after the outbreak of the affair, the Executive Committee dismissed a panel of judges headed by Jozef Chovanec and appointed a temporary one. Tomáš Bárta, a representative of the League Football Association, remained in it, and the other members are regular expert Jiří Kureš and Jan Zahradníček, chairman of the judges in the steering committee for Moravia.

At the end of October, the chairman of the FACR, Martin Malík, stated that he expected help from UEFA in setting up the standing commission. The foreigner was already the head of the Czech judges, from the summer of 2016 to the summer of 2018 they were led by the Pole Michal Listkiewicz.

20 people are being prosecuted in the corruption case in football. Berbr, the highest-ranking person, has been in custody since October on suspicion of influencing results and also betting fraud. The affair has so far affected the second and third leagues. According to police wiretaps, however, Berbr contacted judge Pavel Královec before the July final of the domestic cup between Liberec and Sparta (1: 2), who was withdrawn from the list of judges by the end of the year last week.
