Third division soccer team SpVgg Unterhaching has moved away from the relegation ranks for at least one day with a 2-0 (0-0) win over 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Friday evening. Coach Arie van Lent’s team took advantage of the guests’ uncertainties with high balls. The first goal fell after a cross from captain Markus Schwabl from the right half-field, Patrick Hasenhüttl headed the ball into the left corner (50th). The 2-0 came after a free kick from the left. The recently rarely used central defender Christoph Greger scored from close range (74th). Between the two goals, as well as in minute 87, Lautern had good opportunities, but Haching was still the first time in nine games without conceding a goal.
