Two of the three Indonesian representatives at the Toyota Thailand Open 2021 won tickets to the semifinals. Following are the results of the Toyota Thailand Open from Indonesia’s representatives in the quarterfinals.
Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja from mixed doubles became the first Indonesian representatives to compete in the quarter-finals of Toyota Thailand Open 2021. Competing at Impact Arena, Friday (22/1/2021), Hafiz / Gloria lost to Hoo Pang Ron / Cheah Yee See in three game fights with a score of 21-12, 19-21, 19-21.
Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu achieved better results than the women’s doubles. Facing Alexandra Boje / Mette Poulsen, Greysia / Apriyani who were placed as fifth seeds won two straight games with a score of 21-9, 21-17.
In the semifinals of Toyota Thailand Open 2021, Greysia / Apriyani will face Lee So Hee / Shin Seung Chan. This will be a repeat party for the Yonex Thailand Open semifinals which was held just last week.
Greysia / Apriyani at that time won through a three-game battle with a score of 15-21, 21-15, 21-16. The victory made Greysia / Apriyani lead 4-1 in head to head with the South Korean women’s doubles.
The steps of Greysia / Apriyani to the semifinals of the Toyota Thailand Open were followed by Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan. Ahsan / Hendra only took 29 minutes to finish the British men’s doubles fight Ben Lane / Sean Vendy with a score of 21-14, 21-13.
Qualifying for the semifinals, Ahsan / Hendra will face Lee Yang / Wang Chi-Lin. In head to head, Ahsan / Hendra won 6-2 over the Taiwanese men’s doubles.
