Manchester

Manchester City get bad news ahead of the match against Chelsea. They will not be reinforced by five players who must be isolated because they are positive for the corona virus.

City will travel to Chelsea headquarters at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League continued, Sunday (3/1/2021) evening WIB. The Chelsea vs City match will be broadcast live on Mola TV and can be watched via a streaming link this.

City manager Pep Guardiola said there would be five players who could not be played due to positive COVID-19. There are an additional three players who tested positive for the corona virus.

As is known, City had announced last Christmas that Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus were positive for the corona virus. Now there are three additional players who must be isolated because of this virus.

“Now five. Five players underwent isolation for 10 days. The first case released at that time was two players and the second case has three more players,” said Guardiola as reported Sky Sports.

Thus, there are a total of seven club members (5 players and 2 staff) who have to undergo isolation due to the corona virus. However, Guardiola said that City could not reveal the identities of the additional three players who tested positive.

“I don’t think the Premier League will allow us to name players. We have to respect the privacy of the players,” said Guardiola.

“You will see the line-up and three important players are not there, so you will know exactly but I am not allowed to tell you,” he said.

The increase in COVID-19 cases at Manchester City had made the match against Everton on Monday (28/12) then had to be postponed a few hours before kick-off. This made City have to close its training center before finally reopening it on Wednesday (30/12).
