Melgarejo still could not appear in Racing

Juan Antonio Pizzi still could not count on the entire squad available. In his second practice in command of the Racing team, Lorenzo Melgarejo was missing again. The Paraguayan warned of the new absence, a situation that will be repeated this Saturday, and hopes to rejoin the squad next week.

What happened? As explained from the club, he still could not unblock his departure from Paraguay because he is processing documentation related to health measures in the framework of the coronavirus. “On Monday, perhaps, Lorenzo can rejoin the team,” they told this portal from the footballer’s inner circle. In the afternoon they confirmed to Racing de Alma that he will arrive in Buenos Aires on Sunday.

Melgarejo, 30, came to the club in the past transfer market and, on balance, his performance has been good. Above all, from his presence on the net: he scored six goals in 10 games, four for the Diego Armando Maradona Cup and two for the Libertadores. Due to its quality, its technical richness and panorama, the characteristics of the Guaraní fit in with the footballing taste of Pizzi, although it will be necessary to see if he will have the chance to start with him (at least in the beginning) or will he be a replacement option.
