The PGA Championship was actually supposed to take place on a Donald Trump golf course. But the organizers have been distancing themselves from the former president since the storm on the Capitol. Now a replacement location for the tournament has been found.

NAfter saying goodbye to the Trump organization, the 2022 PGA Championship will take place in Southern Hills, Oklahoma. The organizers announced this on Monday and named May 16-22, 2022 as the date. The PGA Championship, one of the four majors, was originally planned for 2022 on a golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, owned by the organization of former American President Donald Trump.

After Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol earlier this month, the PGA of America said goodbye to the project. Southern Hills wouldn’t actually have hosted the tournament again until 2030.

The Trump organization is primarily active in the real estate sector and operates, among other things, hotels and golf courses like the one in Bedminster. After his election victory in 2016, Trump handed over the management of the corporate conglomerate to his sons Eric and Donald Junior. But he remained the owner, although he had promised to “isolate himself completely” from his business.
