Ajax definitely loses Julian Rijkhoff (16) to Borussia Dortmund. Ajax Showtime reports that. The striker of the Amsterdam team’s O17 will soon travel to Germany, where he will sign a contract until mid-2024.
Rijkhoff’s departure had been in the air for a while. The Telegraph already reported that Rijkhoff is on his way to Dortmund. The striker turned sixteen years old on January 25 and can therefore sign a contract with the Bundesliga club. Ajax ‘only’ receives a training allowance for Rijkhoff.
Ajax Showtime reports that an agreement has been reached between Dortmund and Rijkhoff, who would have already informed Ajax of his decision. The young attacker would have been disturbed by the lack of perspective at Ajax. The club made him a contract proposal last summer, but Rijkhoff found that offer to be of little respect.
Rijkhoff has been known for years as a great talent at Ajax and scores on the assembly line. In four league matches for Ajax U17 he scored nine goals this season.
