The former manager of Babou in the north of Limoges was found guilty of moral harassment towards six of his employees. He took over the management of the store in September 2018 and made life unbearable for his employees. Six months suspended prison sentence had been required against him in December 2020.
The decision was made publicly this Friday, January 29, 2021. Mr. Moncef N. and SARL Moncef N. were found guilty of all the facts with regard to the six employees concerned: the SARL sentenced for the dismissal a staff representative without prior authorization from the labor inspectorate and Moncef N. for all the acts of moral harassment.
Last December, a six-month suspended prison sentence was required against the former manager of the Babou store. He will ultimately only have to pay a fine of 3,000 euros. A fine of 1,500 euros was requested from the SARL of the same name.
Recall of facts
Moncef N. and his wife took over the management of the Babou store in the North zone of Limoges in September 2018. Four later and faced with authoritarian management, many employees were on sick leave, emphasized our colleagues from the People’s Center in December 2020.

Unrealizable tasks, continuous espionage via video surveillance, sexist remarks … The employees of the store ended up coming into conflict with their ex-boss. Maria Ramos Vidal has followed this case closely. She testified at the bar of the Criminal Court of Limoges last December.
Today, the ruling is a relief, “money, who cares. We are relieved because the harassment is recognized for the girls, for all they have gone through and for their tenacity. What I also emphasize is that our union is recognized as such. We are not here to smash business leaders, but as social partners we have never seen this. “
Same reaction for Me Sylvie Rosas, lawyer of the civil parties, who sees in this decision a new beginning for the 6 employees: “The only thing we wanted was for them to be found guilty. Employees are satisfied that their victim status is recognized. They will be able to turn the page of this section“.
