The road to Wolfsburg seems clear for Mark van Bommel | Football

From next season, Glasner will be the trainer of Eintracht Frankfurt, where he succeeds Adi Hütter who has left for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Glasner performed excellently last season with Wolfsburg, which finished fourth in the Bundesliga and thus qualified for the Champions League. Yet it was no longer a public secret that the Austrian was living at odds with the club management and a departure was imminent. Recently it became clear that Van Bommel is on pole position and that he would like to take Kevin Hofland with him to Germany as an assistant.

There is no agreement between Wolfsburg and Van Bommel yet, but a signature may follow soon. In that case, it will be his second job as head coach for the 44-year-old Limburger. He was previously at the helm of PSV for a year and a half.
