Alma – The Alexis-le-Trotteur d’Alma Foundation awarded grants for the sports component and the arts component on Tuesday, June 22. In total, eight athletes from different sports and one artist won scholarships, totaling $ 11,000.
The biggest purse went to Anaëlle Carette, in dance. The latter received a scholarship of $ 3,000.
On the sports side, the biggest purse went to speed skater Justin Bergeron with a sum of $ 1,750. Her speed skating teammate, Léa Morel, received a scholarship of $ 300.
Three judo athletes also received a scholarship from the Alexis-le-Trotteur Foundation. Jules Martin is the one who received the largest amount, $ 1,400. François Gauthier-Drapeau received him an amount of $ 1,000. Finally, a $ 900 scholarship was awarded to judoka Mathilde Simard-Lejeune.
In swimming, the Foundation awarded a $ 800 scholarship to Mathieu Ouellet, while in para-swimming, Alisson Gobeil won a $ 1,000 scholarship.
Finally, in mountain biking, William Maltais-Pilote obtained a sum of $ 900.
Since its inception, the Alexis-le-Trotteur Foundation has awarded more than $ 200,000 in scholarships.
