Reporter Lee Dong-jae | The government announced that it had deliberated and decided on the ‘5th National Standards Basic Plan’ jointly established by relevant ministries through the 1st National Standards Council. In this master plan, 18 ministries including the Ministry of Industry and Science and Technology and 50 private standard experts participated to discover tasks to be implemented by field, and through public hearings to collect opinions from the private sector, ▲ standardization for preoccupation in the global market ▲ support for corporate innovation It is composed of 12 major tasks in 4 strategies: standardization for a happy life for the people, and establishment of an innovation-led standardization system. To implement the basic plan, a total of 1.348.9 billion won in total budget for 5 years, including 166.3 billion won to preempt international standards, 838.8 billion won to support corporate innovation, 189.1 billion won to realize a happy life for the people, and 154.6 billion won to establish an innovation-led standardization system plans to put it in. If the establishment of the national standard system system foundation, international standards conformity, full-scale international standardization activities of Korean technology, and advancement of the national standard system were the main achievements over the past 20 years since the enactment of the Framework Act on National Standards, this master plan is the future innovative technology that will lead the digital transformation. Standards for transition to a leading economy such as standardization, early commercialization of low-carbon technology, securing compatibility of household products, and global branding of KC/KS certification
