The “Sport and inclusive health” tour kicks off in the Catanzaro area

CATANZARO The “Sport and Health Inclusive” tour, conceived by Special Olympics Italia Team Calabria with the aim of promoting sporting activity following the restrictions dictated by the pandemic, has started from the province of Catanzaro. Initiative created to stimulate, also for tourism purposes, the dissemination throughout the regional territory of the main objectives of the movement such as participation, integration and psycho-physical well-being.

The tour, which will be divided into a journey in stages that will touch all the provinces of Calabria, had a positive start with the first stage “Summer Beach Games”, organized at the Lido Golden in Davoli Marina, by the provincial director of Catanzaro Francesco Miscioscia. The latter, together with his staff, managed to guarantee the numerous participants who competed in the disciplines of swimming, rowing, running, bowls and badminton, a moment of healthy fun in the equipped competition fields.

The event saw the participation of the Asd Andromeda of Reggio Calabria and of the Odv Diversamenteingioco of S. Caterina dello Ionio, of the Delegate of the Italian Paralympic Committee of the province of Catanzaro, Francesco Gualtieri, and of the managers of the Special Olympics Regional Team, or the Regional Director Luisa Elitro, the Director of the province of Vibo Valentia Rossella Ciconte, the Director of the province of Crotone, Francesca Pellegrino, and the regional contact person for the volunteers area Renato Raffa.

The day was embellished by the presence on the sidelines of the scouts, numerous fans, volunteers and family members who, thanks to their enthusiasm, were able to unleash the positive energy of the Special Group which will soon spread, on the occasion of the second stage, also in the province of Vibo Valentia.
