What Chacón said. On August 2, the Liberian triathlete published a long letter on his Facebook profile, in which he harshly questions the NOC.

In this publication, Chacón revealed his annoyance at the way in which scholarships are distributed in Costa Rica.

“If the Government of Costa Rica continues to turn billions to the National Olympic Committee without the federations having independence, it will only be necessary to continue applauding the titanic efforts of the athletes, their parents, the private sponsors and a few federations that with their nails are the great protagonists and heroes of history “, affirmed Chacón.

“I left the Olympic cycle unmotivated to fight the system, tired of begging for my full scholarship, disgusted to see preferences,” he added.

On the other hand, Henry Núñez defended himself from criticism this Monday, in the ‘Columbia Atletismo’ program, by ensuring that the pampero did receive a full scholarship.

In this interview, Núñez launched strong phrases against Chacón and defended the use of funds from the National Olympic Committee.

“To me that role of victim, because he fell off his bicycle and continued competing is a national hero, sorry I competed with a broken anterior crusader and a broken rib, so for people who do not play sports that may sound like something extraordinary, but for those of us who have been in sports that is normal, an athlete injured or does not have to get up and compete until their strength allows it, “said Núñez, an Olympic athlete in judo.
