Josodzumi wins the skateboard “park” discipline; Hiraki and Brown rewrite the history of the Olympics

In the “Park” discipline, skateboarders are free to choose where to start in the skate park and perform some tricks. The judges evaluate the complexity and originality of the tricks, fluency, fitness, frequency and how natural the athlete looks when performing tricks in the air.

Only the best of the three performances will be considered in the final.

19-year-old Josodzumi scored 60.09 points in the finals, 12-year-old Japanese Kokonai Hiraki scored 59.04 points, and 13-year-old British skateboarder Skaia Brown finished the race with 56.47 points.

Hiraki became the youngest Olympic medalist since 1936, when Frenchman Noel Vandernote won the bronze prize in the rowing quartet. Meanwhile, Brown has become Britain’s youngest medalist of all time.

The youngest Olympic champion of all time is the American figure jumper Major Gestring, who won gold in Berlin in 1936 at the age of 13 and 268 days. Hiraki and Brown didn’t take the chance to beat that record on Wednesday.

On Thursday, there will be a competition in the “park” discipline for men, but before that the medals were divided in the “street” competition.
