Israel has won several medals at the Olympic Games in rhythmic and sports gymnastics, in judo. Linoy Ashram won a gold medal.
With 89 athletes, Israel is represented by the largest delegation in its history to these Games. This high figure can be explained, among other things, by the 24 members of the first Israeli Olympic baseball team. Note that these Summer Olympics, initially scheduled for 2020, also marked the beginning of Israeli athletes in the following disciplines: surfing, archery and equestrian sports.

Israeli world champion in artistic gymnastics Linoï Ashram won the gold medal in the final against nine competitors. She thus obtains the third gold medal in Israeli sport, the second in the Tokyo Olympics and she is the first Israeli woman to climb to the highest step of an Olympic podium.
