World-ranked second tennis player Daniil Medvedev won the tournament in Toronto. He defeated the American Reilly Opel in the final 6: 4, 6: 3. The 25-year-old Russian player won his third title this year, triumphing for the twelfth time in the ATP circuit.

In the semifinals, the highest-seeded Medvedev eliminated 208 centimeters tall John Isner, and he was not stopped in the title match by another American longtime Opelka, who measures three centimeters more. All four of Opel’s breakballs were averted by the Russian favorite and his mutual balance was improved to four victories and one defeat.
