World-ranked second tennis player Daniil Medvedev won the tournament in Toronto. He defeated the American Reilly Opel in the final 6: 4, 6: 3. The 25-year-old Russian player won his third title this year, triumphing for the twelfth time in the ATP circuit.

In the semifinals, the highest-seeded Medvedev eliminated 208 centimeters tall John Isner, and he was not stopped in the title match by another American longtime Opelka, who measures three centimeters more.
