The state government and the autonomous communities have agreed this Wednesday expand capacity to outdoor stadiums by up to 60%, as reported by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, in the press conference after the Interterritorial Health Council. Catalonia has voted against the agreement. Darias pointed out that “this is a maximum”, which means that the autonomous communities can set lower percentages if they deem it appropriate. In the case of capacity in indoor equipment, the figure is set at a maximum of 40%. Both ceilings will be maintained throughout the month of September, as Darias also explained.

Each territory has the power to set lower thresholds and the Generalitat has voted against the agreement

For its part, the Department of Health of the Generalitat has stressed that, before the agreement to allow gaugings of up to 60% in the period of the month of September in outdoor spaces, “it is a time when the messages of prudence must be extreme”. It is for this reason that Catalonia “has voted against” this capacity, and in this sense the Department recalls that the agreement provides that each territory has the power to mark lower thresholds. In this sense, he pointed out that it will be the Procicat who will decide the percentages to be established in Catalonia.
