Ben Simmons would be ready to pay the hefty fines he would face by missing training camp

Last week Ben Simmons and his side are said to have made it known in a meeting with top Sixers leaders that he would like to be transferred. He also reportedly announced that he would not be planning to show up for training camp if he was not traded by then.

At the moment the situation with a trade does not seem to change much and it is possible that at the start of training camp he will still be with the Sixers. This will make the situation complicated and obviously the Australian, if it is the case, would have every intention of not showing up to the camp, even if it means paying big fines. A member of his camp reportedly told ESPN’s Brian Windhorst that he would be ready for this eventuality.

According to Bobby Marks, Simmons could be deprived of his salary for every missed training camp day, or $ 227,000 per day! It could quickly run into millions of dollars if this absence is prolonged.

This season Simons has a salary of $ 33 million.
