Hampson shoots 2 HRs and Rockies beat Phillies again

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Garrett Hampson hit two home runs and drove five runs and the Colorado Rockies dealt another blow to the Phillies’ postseason aspirations by defeating Philadelphia 5-4 on Sunday.

Hampson’s two home runs went 0-2 – a three-run score in the fifth inning off a curveball from Aaron Nola and a two-run homer to break the tie in the seventh against Héctor Neris (2-6). . Philadelphia pitchers have allowed 16 home runs on an 0-2 count this season, the highest in the major leagues.

The Phillies trailed Atlanta 4.5 games in the contest for the top of the NL East with 18 games remaining on the schedule.

The Rockies, who are 30 games under .500 on the road, won three of four games in Philadelphia and took the annual series 5-2.

Bryce Harper hit his 32nd home run of the season for the Phillies. JT Realmuto had three hits and scored twice.

Sunday’s start was the 30th of Nola’s career in September, a month in which he is 7-13 with a 4.55 ERA with 30 home runs against in 172 innings of work. It is the only month in his career that he does not have a winning record.

Realmuto scored on a wild pitch to even the score in the sixth against Ashton Goudeau (1-0), who took the credit.

For the Rockies, Venezuelans Elías Díaz 4-2 with two runs scored; Yonathan Daza 1-0. The Dominican Raimel Tapia 3-0.

For the Phillies, Jean Segura 4-1. Venezuelans Odubel Herrera 4-0 with one scored; Freddy Galvis of 3-1.
