The judoka from Hidalgo Marcela García Vargas already knows her walk in the Junior World Championship of the discipline, which takes place from this day until October 10 in Olbia, Italy.
García Vargas, who is also in contention to attend the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games, is part of Pool C, in the -70 kilograms category.
For the first round, in the weight division in which 30 athletes in addition to the Hidalgo participate, she will face off on Friday against the Polish Katarzyna Sobierajska, as part of the twelfth confrontation of the division.
In case of advancing, the representative of the entity would face the winner between the Portuguese Joana Crisóstomo and the Puerto Rican Sairy Colón Rodríguez, who is currently the number one in the continent, according to the latest ranking of the Pan American Judo Confederation.
García Vargas is not the only Mexican who will take part in the competition in that division of Mexico. She attends this appointment with 15 other representatives, of which nine are men and the remaining five, women.
