Masters Andalusia (golf): Warrior leads the debates after the first round

Julien Guerrier took the lead of the Masters of Andalusia after the first round played Thursday on the course of the Real Club de Valderrama, in Sotogrande. Only a few days after his 3rd place at the Spanish Open, the Frenchman, who rose in a single tournament from 608th to 429th place in the world rankings, once again showed that he was in great shape at the moment.

By returning a card of 67, the French did better than the Spaniard Rafael Cabrera-Bello (68), winner in the play-off last Sunday in Madrid, and his compatriot Romain Langasque (69), provisionally 3rd in two strokes. The two French golfers also did much better than the world number 1, Jon Rahm, author of a pitiful 78, seven strokes above Par, which placed him in 107th place, four days after a disappointing 17th place in the Spanish Open where he was aiming for the pass of three.
