PSG: Keylor Navas out on injury with Costa Rica

What if the alternation in the hierarchy of PSG goalkeepers knew its first stop? Since the start of the season, Mauricio Pochettino has offered playing time equivalent to his two goalkeepers Keylor Navas, at the club since 2019, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, freshly recruited. This strategy, which for many observers looks like a puzzle, could end temporarily. The first, tenured nine times, in all competitions, this season with Paris, was, in fact, injured in the night from Wednesday to Thursday with his selection.

Navas had to come out at halftime in the 2022 World Cup qualifying game between Costa Rica and the United States on Wednesday in Columbus. The 34-year-old, who was celebrating his 99th selection, was playing a superb game but felt pain in his right adductor, according to his federation.

Still difficult to assess the severity of the injury

The severity of his injury and the length of his unavailability are not yet known. Additional examinations will be carried out upon his return to Paris.

It was almost confirmed, because of the international calendar, that Donnarumma would start Friday night at the Parc des Princes against Angers, after playing the last two games (Rennes and Manchester City). His tenure could thus be extended against Leipzig next Tuesday, or against Olympique Marseille on Sunday, October 24.
