Interested in promoting sport in the municipality, the Mayor, Saúl Monreal Ávila attended to support the Mineras and Reales de Fresnillo women’s teams that will participate in the 2021 season of the Mexican Basketball League (LIMEBA) representing El Mineral in the area of shallows.
Monreal Ávila specified that, for his government, it is essential to promote this type of events, since they motivate young people to take an interest in sports activities and thereby reinforce crime prevention actions in the municipality.
In this sense, he reaffirmed his commitment to both teams to support the players during the season so that one of them takes first place in the tournament, in which they will face the Barriers of Guadalupe, Gladiadoras de San Luis Potosí and Lobas de Aguascalientes.
In the preseason matches, this Wednesday Las Mineras as well as the Royals of Fresnillo faced the Barriers of Guadalupe, the former lost 36 to 42 and the latter prevailed on the scoreboard with 53 to 51 points.
Next Saturday, October 16, the 2021 season of the Mexican Basketball League (LIMEBA) begins where the Mineras de Fresnillo will receive the Lobas de Aguascalientes at the “Antonio Méndez Sosa” Municipal Gymnasium.
