Stephen Curry reacts to NBA explaining rule changes using clip against Bucks

Stephen Curry is one of the best shooters in NBA history. He is a three-time NBA champion and two-time scorer. Many have credited him with revolutionizing the game by focusing more on the three points. Now, Curry may have to change some of the tricks he uses due to a change in NBA rules.

The NBA recently implemented new rules over the summer. This is an initiative taken by the NBA to combat the traps that players have used over the years. However, such a big change can take a while to implement, as players and officials will have to adapt. But, to clear up the confusion over the new rules, the NBA has explained these changes through a few clips on their social media.

However, they did not bring in players who regularly exploited this rule. Instead, they chose the Stephen Curry clip to explain an instance. Curry reacted to the clip and commented on the rule change.

Stephen Curry comments on new NBA rule changes

The video of Warriors star Stephen Curry was used as an example to explain the new rule changes. In the video, Curry catches Draymond Green’s pass and dribbles to the basket. However, just before shooting, he sharply leans towards Bucks defenseman Donte DiVincenzo. It would be a foul starting this season as the attacking player lands in the back defender.

Curry, who reacted to the video in a recent interview with Athleticism, opened up about the new rule changes and revealed he was still confused.

“There was a game against Milwaukee – two guys were guarding me at the same time,” Curry said.

“I changed direction. I think (Donte) DiVincenzo came up behind me. They used it as one of the examples. They said it wouldn’t have been a (defensive) foul (and makes it an offensive foul). I’m sitting there watching the video, like, uh, I’m still confused that it’s not a (defensive) foul.

It’s understandable that Curry is confused about these rule changes. However, not just him, but almost every NBA fan is confused and will have to wait until the start of the season for more clarity. But overall, this new rule could solve one of the biggest problems.

Stephen Curry is good at handling the ball and he exploits these situations very cleverly. In fact, with his league-leading 32.0 PPG, Steph averaged 6.3 free throw attempts per game last season in the NBA. For now, it remains to be seen how the rule will impact the league.

How do you think this rule will change the game?
